The incident took place today, shortly after 10.00am, on Vasilissis Olgas Avenue on bus line 3K and approximately at the height of Botsari Street. The perpetrator was well-dressed with a neat appearance, blonde, thin and relatively short. He got on the bus at the Analipsi stop and a few seconds later he tried to steal a wallet from a woman’s bag, but she was noticed.

The driver stopped the bus as soon as he realized the incident and the pickpocket who immediately returned the wallet to its owner, trying to cloud the waters and find time to escape, started saying in broken Greek “she’s crazy…she’s crazy”. At the same time he moved to the back of the sedan where he found the tilting window and immediately tried to escape as the doors of the vehicle were closed.

Passengers tried to stop her and restrain her, but the woman who was being beaten screaming, finally managed to fit in and leave the city, running in an unknown direction. He left behind her the cap she was wearing, a pack of cigarettes and two lighters.

The police were immediately informed about the incident, who launched searches in the area to locate her.
