The Iranian security forces arrested 11 people who are suspected of involvement in the two deadly bombings that killed nearly 100 people during a memorial service for General Qassem Soleimani.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the deadly explosions that occurred on Wednesday in the southeastern Iranian city of Kerman.

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said Friday that security services arrested two people in Kerman who provided support to two suicide bombers. Nine other suspects were arrested in other parts of Iran.

The attacks in Kerman were the worst in Iran since the Islamic Revolution of 1979. One of the bombers was Tajik.

Today there were many funerals for the victims, with their relatives weeping over the coffins and the crowd chanting “revenge, revenge”, according to footage shown on state television.

“We will find you wherever you are”Revolutionary Guard commander Major General Hossein Salami said in his speech at a funeral in Kerman.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raishi said in a televised address that Iranian forces “will decide where and when to take action.”

In 2022, the Islamic State had claimed responsibility for an attack on a Shiite shrine in Iran thatwhich killed 15 people. In 2017, the jihadist group also attacked the parliament and the tomb of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
