The Health Ministry of Hamas in the Gaza Strip announced today that an Israeli airstrike killed two Palestinian journalists.

THE Mustafa Thurayaa freelance (free lancer) cameraman, who worked with Agence France-Presse, and the Hamza Vael Daduhan Al Jazeera journalist were killed while riding in a vehicle, the ministry and rescuers said.

Wael al-Dadouh, father of Hamza al-Dadouh, is Al Jazeera’s Gaza bureau chief and was recently injured in an Israeli strike.

Wael al-Dadouh had already lost his wife and two children in another Israeli strike during the first weeks of the war.

Mustafa Thuraya has been working with AFP since 2019.

As of December 31, at least 77 journalists and media workers had been killed since the war between Israel and Palestinian Hamas in the Gaza Strip began on October 7, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

Among these journalists, 70 were Palestinian, four Israeli and three Lebanese.
