The Israeli military says it has evidence that Hamas has developed guided cruise missiles under Iranian guidance.

In particular, the IDF reports that during the raid on a Hamas site in the Daraj and Tuffah neighborhoods of Gaza City, they discovered a tunnel leading to an underground weapons factory.

The soldiers found “components that prove that Hamas fighters learned under Iranian guidance how to operate and manufacture precision components and strategic weapons,” the IDF says.

The IDF, in fact, presented images depicting a rocket engine and the warhead of a cruise missile developed by Hamas.

Hamas is known to possess anti-tank guided missiles and small explosive drones — used at short range — as well as improvised autonomous submarines with explosive or underwater drones, but no long-range guided missiles.

The Palestinian organization also has shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles, which are ineffective against Israeli aircraft.

It is unclear if Hamas ever developed its guided missiles or if they were only in the development stage.
