“Hernandez was never in the danger zone. We investigated the possibility of self-defense but there is no such case. There was no need for him to use lethal force.” said the prosecutor.
The case
45-year-old Teresa Gomez was with a passenger in her vehicle – they had probably been using drugs – when Felipe Hernandez stopped them for a check.
Gomez complied and exited the vehicle and the search began. The woman was apparently calm, even subdued, while the policeman started talking bad to her.
In fact, at one point he is heard saying to her that “I will make your life a living hell.”
Gomez asks to get in and sit in the car while Gomez runs her details and suddenly he starts the car and leaves.
Hernandez then pulls out his gun and shoots her inside the carthough he could just throw at the wheels to stop the vehicle.
He then informs by radio, runs next to the car and he tries to get her out semi-conscious to give her medical aid. Next to her, the passenger can be heard saying to the lost “no man, sk@t@, this is a f@min phase”.
A little later the Gomez breathed her last in the car.
