Earlier in the morning, 200 people with 80 tractors and 25 trucks gathered at the main entrance of the capital’s Exhibition Center, where the “Green Week” international food and agricultural products exhibition is being hosted from today.

According to the German Farmers’ Union, which is protesting against plans to scrap the farm diesel subsidy, the protests will continue next week, but on a more limited scale. “Our farmers are disappointed that they were not heard,” said Union head Joachim Ruckwidt, referring to yesterday’s Bundestag debate, which did not result in a government back down.

“From next week we will have more mobilizations, more targeted, in order to express in a special way how important it is for us that the plan be withdrawn,” said Mr. Rookvid.
