The Duke of Sussex received the ‘Living Legend of Aviation’ award at a ceremony hosted by John Travolta in Beverly Hills, California on Friday, January 19, 2024. However, what is interesting is that during his speech he did not reference to his father, King Charles, or Kate Middleton, for their health problems.
His award appears to have sparked outrage among veterans who believe he is undeserving of the title. Retired army colonel Richard Kemp said Prince Harry had done absolutely nothing to deserve the award.

“I can understand why that is. Everything is obviously for publicity. He is famous and of course he gives publicity to this award and the people who promote it. But there are many people in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Syria, possibly even now, who are putting their very lives at risk.”
And he continued: “A large number of military pilots, helicopters and aircraft have performed some extraordinary feats of bravery that I’m afraid Harry did not”.
Doukas served two missions in Afghanistan as an air traffic controller and Apache helicopter pilot. In Afghanistan, he served as a Forward Air Controller from 2007 to 2008 and as an Apache pilot from 2012 to 2013, occasionally stationed at Camp Bastion. During his tenure he qualified as an Apache pilot and was promoted to the rank of squadron leader in 2011.
