Over 26 billion personal files have been leaked from various websites including Twitter, Dropbox and Linkedin in one of the largest personal data leaks ever.

This specific leak is called “Mother of all breaches” and as cyber security researchers warn this breach is extremely dangerous and could cause a tsunami of cyber leaks.

Bob Dyachenko, owner of SecurityDiscovery.com and researchers from Cybernews discovered the data breach on an insecure website. Who is behind this massive breach of sensitive personal data will likely never be discovered, however, researchers believe it could be malware or a service that works with large amounts of data.

Of the 12 terabytes of records breached, researchers note that some are almost certainly duplicates. However, a data breach is still extremely concerning due to the sensitive nature of the information that has been released.

To see if your personal data has been breached, you can use Cybernews’ data breach checker. Just type your email address or phone number into the search bar and click “check now” to see if that account information has been leaked.

Cybernews says it is currently working on updating its tool to ensure it will be able to check for current leaked data.
