US and British forces launched a new round of missile strikes on Monday night against the Houthis in Yemen, as part of their efforts to curb the threat posed by Iran-backed rebels to international shipping in the Red Sea, the Reuters news agency citing three US officials and Yemeni news agency.

Earlier, the US Navy denied the Houthi rebels’ claim of a missile attack on the US cargo ship Ocean Jazz in the Gulf of Aden. “The report by Iran-backed Houthi terrorists of an alleged successful attack on the Ocean Jazz ship is completely false. NAVCENT maintained communication with the Ocean Jazz throughout its safe passage,” the US Naval Forces Central Command, or NAVCENT, underlines.
