Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto stated today “with satisfaction and a certain pride” that “one hundred children, with their families, are to be transferred from the Gaza Strip to Italian hospitals to be treated”.

“The first thirty children will arrive in Italy by airlift from Egypt, thanks to the help of our country’s air force, while another thirty will be transported, at the end of the month, by the Italian military ship Vulcano,” Crozeto added.

“Italy is making efforts with the aim of de-escalating the conflict and providing assistance to the civilian population, which is the victim, without bearing responsibility, of the terrorists of Hamas,” the Italian minister emphasized.

At the same time, he announced that “in the coming days the italian army intends to set up a field hospitalan initiative for which talks are underway with the main countries of the wider region”.

“We cannot remain indifferent, this fight is of a moral character, before even a political one. Our country, along with France and Qatar, is the only one that makes a significant humanitarian effort. I wish other countries to take part in this solidarity fight, taking into account that our floating hospital, Vulcano, will soon return to Italy”, concluded Guido Crosetto.
