In Milan, the demonstrators were only able to march a distance of three hundred meters.
About two thousand people participated in the marches held late afternoon in Rome and Naples in favor of the Palestinian people and demanding an immediate end to all military operations in Gaza.
The demonstrations were organized by Italian left-wing organizations, as well as the “Young Palestinians” organization, despite the decision of the Italian Ministry of the Interior, which had requested the postponement of the mobilizations due to the fact that today is the Jewish Holocaust Remembrance Day.
In Milan, the demonstrators were only able to march a distance of three hundred meters.
The police then stopped them and moments of tension were recorded, with the use of glocks and an injured person.
“We are not anti-Semitic, we have been protesting every Saturday for so many weeks,” many participants in the marches emphasized. They also added that “what they wish is not to forget in the midst of a climate of general indifference, the thousands of victims of the civilian population of Gaza.”
The Association of Palestinians in Italy announced that it respected the directives of the Ministry of the Interior in Rome and that it is going to demonstrate tomorrow, both in the Italian capital and in Milan.
