The US is planning to move nuclear warheads to the UK in response to growing threats from Russia, the British Telegraph reports.

To bolster the alliance, the Telegraph reports that Pentagon documents reveal that the nuclear weapons will be stationed at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.

In fact, reports speak of weapons with three times the power of the Hiroshima bomb.

Responding to the reports, a UK Ministry of Defense spokesman said: “It remains a long-standing policy of the UK and NATO to neither confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons at a given location.”

2008 was the last year Britain hosted US nuclear missiles, when the Cold War threat from Russia ended and had shrunk.

The weapons are part of a NATO program to “develop and upgrade nuclear facilities” in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Telegraph reports.
