Three of the dead are men aged 45 and 50, who were riding in a car, announced the head of Kherson’s military administration Roman Mrotsko
At least four people were killed today, Monday, and one more was injured in a Russian strike in the city of Kherson, in southern Ukraine, as announced by the head of the Kherson military administration Roman Mrotsko.
“Three of the dead are men aged 45 and 50, who were riding in a car, and (the fourth is) a woman who was on the road at the time of the attack,” the official said in a Telegram post.
The official accompanied his message with video showing a completely burnt car and what appears to be the impact site a few meters away.
“Another man was injured. He is currently being hospitalized,” Mrotsko said, denouncing a new Russian attack on Kherson to “kill and injure civilians.”
According to local governor Oleksandr Prokudin, the woman who was killed was 66 years old.
The Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko published on his part video showing firefighters trying to put out the flames in a fully burning car.
The city of Kherson, in the southern part of the country, was held by the Russian army for several months in 2022 before they retreated in November of that year to the opposite bank of the Dnieper River, with each camp now controlling one bank. The area is often the target of Russian bombing.
The deadly blow comes two days after shelling, which Moscow blamed on the Ukrainian military, killed at least 28 people, according to Russian emergency services, in Lisitsansk, a Russian-held city in eastern Ukraine.
