An Israeli woman was killed by a barrage of rocket attacks which were launched today by Lebanon which also hit a military base and injured several more people, an Israeli government spokesman said.

Earlier today, two Lebanese security sources said a woman and two children were killed today in Israeli strikes on a village in southern Lebanon, as Israel launched a series of strikes against the country.

A Lebanese security source speaking to AFP spoke of four civilians dead – including a woman and two children – and nine wounded from today’s Israeli raids in southern Lebanon.

A woman, her son and her ancestor were killed in an Israeli strike in the village of Sawaneh, the security source told AFP. A fourth civilian was killed in a raid on the village of Antsit, according to the same source.

The Israeli military announced today that fighter jets launched a “series of strikes” in Lebanon after a rocket fired from Lebanon wounded several people in northern Israel, according to Israeli medical sources.

The Israeli raids targeted numerous locations within a radius of 10 to 25 km from the Israel-Lebanese border and caused significant damage according to images circulating on social media.
