Wray also met with the head of the Tel Aviv-based FBI and “insisted on the importance of the work that FBI personnel are doing alongside their Israeli partners to counter the threats posed by Hamas, Hezbollah, the Iran and others”.
“The FBI will listen to the requests of the government of Israel in order to support it in its efforts to guarantee the safety of the citizens of the country in the face of terrorist threats and actions,” the announcement emphasizes.
According to New York Times, the visit is Ray’s first to Israel since the October 7 attack by Hamas. The FBI director is now set to travel to Germany for the Munich Security Conference, which begins today and runs through February 17.
