Russia’s Defense Ministry announced this morning that air defenses had “intercepted or destroyed” 33 Ukrainian drones headed for Russia
At least three people were killed, including a teenage girl, and four were wounded by Ukrainian shelling in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk province controlled by Russian forces, an occupation official said today.
From this blow to the village Panteleimonivka three people were killed, among them a girl born in 2009, four people were injured, including a girl born in 2013,” wrote Dmitry Chevchenko head of the municipality on Telegram.
The toll may be heavier as we “remove debris,” he added.
Chevchenko posted photos showing a building with a damaged roof, partially collapsed and debris everywhere.
Panteleimonivka is located just 20 kilometers from the front line and about the same distance to the northeast from the city of Donetsk, the capital of the province.
In this area, the Russian army overnight scored its biggest victory in months, forcing Ukrainian soldiers to withdraw from Avdiivka, a city where heavy fighting had been raging since the autumn.
At the same time the Russian Ministry of Defense announced this morning that air defenses had “intercepted or destroyed” 33 Ukrainian drones headed for Russia. These drones were shot down over the districts Bryansk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk and Kaluga, in the western part of Russia. No casualties or damage have been reported at this time.
