A motorcade, believed to be carrying the body of the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny from the penal colony to the arctic circle where he was kept serving a 19-year sentencecaptured on video – the moment his family has no access to his body for three days after his death.

A van believed to be carrying the body was seen overnightFriday 16 to Saturday 17 February, accompanied by prison vehicles and two police patrol cars.

A motorcade car can be seen without markings – possibly a security service vehicle of the notorious FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation).

Navalny’s mother, Lyudmila, 69, and his lawyer arrived at the prison on Saturday morning looking for the body, but with no luck.

The group of the dissident in the morning announced that Lyudmila she has no access to her son’s body, three days after he died because the inquest into his death “has been extended”.

“It is not known how long (the investigation) will continue. The cause of death remains undetermined” was the claim of the Russian authorities.

“They lie, they play for time and they don’t even hide it”Alexei Navalny’s representative, Kira Yarmish, commented on X.

On his part, Ivan Zhdanov, head of his anti-corruption campaign, called Russian prisons “immoral liars and lackeys” of Vladimir Putinaccusing them of trying to buy time to hide evidence of Navalny’s murder.

The Russian dissident’s mother arrived at the penal colony already on Saturday.

Navalny, 47, died on Friday after, according to Russian prison authorities, “felt sick” after a walk.
