Emma Stone accepting the Bafta award for Best Actress on stage at London’s Royal Festival Hall, she thanked her mother and ‘Poor Things’ screenwriter Tony McNamara, among others.

“Tony, thank you for the ‘I gotta go punch that baby’ line.” It changed my life”Stone said while also thanking director George Lanthimos for the “gift” that the role of Bella was to her, the cast, crew and dialect instructor Neil Swain.

“I played a British girl in this film and Neil didn’t laugh when he taught me how to say ‘wart-ter’, even though as an American I say ‘wahter'” Stone said jokingly, wearing a peach-hued Louis Vuitton creation.

Then the actress in her speech talked about her mother. “He is the best person I know in the world and he inspires me every day. It kind of made me believe in this crazy idea that I can do something like this and I’m beyond grateful. Without her, none of this would exist, including my own life, so thank you for that, Mom.”he added.

According to Variety, it’s Stone’s second BAFTA win, after winning the Golden Mask in 2017 for her role in ‘La La Land’ alongside Ryan Gosling. The actor was also nominated for his performance in the film ‘Barbie’, but failed to win any awards.
