Martin Scorsese will soon make his appearance on the big screen.

The masterful director has a small but important role in the upcoming mystery film “In the Hands of Dante» by Julian Schnabel.

He will play the elderly mentor of Dante Alighieri when he writes one of the masterpieces of world literature, “Divine Comedy».

He is excellent in the film,” Schnabel reports to Variety , describing Scorsese’s role “brilliant and important».

Based on Nick Tosches’ novel of the same name, ‘In the Hands of Dante’ takes place in two periods in the 14th century and the 21st and follows the story of a rare manuscript of the ‘Divine Comedy’ located in the Vatican Library as it passes through a priest in the hands of a mob boss in New York.
