He refused to negotiate with Russian investigators his mother Alexei Navalny, Ludmila Navalnaya after the ultimatum she was given that she would either agree to a secret funeral, with no public farewell, or her son would be buried in the penal colony in the Russian Arctic North.
As the representative of the family made known Kira Yarmysh Nvalni’s mother refused any kind of negotiation because as she said “they have no authority to decide how and where to bury her son”.
“It requires them to comply with the law, which requires investigators to turn over the body within two days of determining the cause of death,” Yarmysh wrote.
Yesterday, Thursday, Navalnaya reported that she had been shown her son’s body, but that the authorities were “blackmailing” her into burying him in a secret ceremony without any public farewell. In fact, she reported that they threatened to let her son’s body rot unless he was secretly buried.
Navalnaya was forced to sign a death certificate stating that her son died of natural causes.
