THE Germany is to donate an additional 100 million euros in humanitarian aid to Ukraine to support the water network, hospitals and housing, its foreign minister said today Analena Burbok which is visiting the country.
“Putin’s horror continues here every day, but the people of Ukraine are clear: No day, no attack will be able to destroy their fight for survival,” Burbok said from the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolayiv. Mykolaiv, the capital of the region of the same name, is located at a distance of about 130 km east of Odessa and 65 of the Black Sea.
Its port is its third largest Ukrainian and the city hosts a university for shipbuilding studies.
Burbok visited the former administrative headquarters of the region accompanied by the governor of Mykolayiv Vitaly Kim and the mayor Oleksandr Sienkevich.
Russian missile, which was allegedly aimed at Kim, hit the building killing 37 people and injuring over 30 in late March 2022, a month after the Russian invasion began. The building has remained there as a monument.
The port is not working. In a recent report, authorities reported that more than 1,300 housing complexes and at least 1,000 other homes have been destroyed by Russian attacks.
