“There is no question of sending forces, European forces of NATO inside Ukraine”, emphasized the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his statements, after the conference on the support of Ukraine in Paris.

In detail, in his statements, the prime minister said:

Journalist: So tell us what is the outcome of this meeting?

Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Discussions with President Macron and with our counterparts are always of particular interest, especially when two years have passed since Russia’s barbaric invasion of Ukraine.

I believe that we reaffirmed our unity and our determination to support Ukraine so that it can defend itself in the best possible way against the Russian invasion. I think we have also reached a framework which I would tell you does not deviate particularly from the decisions we have taken in the European Council on how this aid can, in a practical way, have a more substantial and useful result for Ukraine.

Beyond that, because I also heard various comments from colleagues, my counterparts, about issues that may have been discussed in the room, I want to assure that there is no question of sending forces, European forces of NATO, inside Ukraine. An issue that does not exist for Greece and I believe that it does not exist for the great majority of our bonds.

Journalist: Was the issue of a European army raised?

Kyriakos Mitsotakis: As I told you, there is no such issue, and I think that this discussion also diverts from the essence of our effort to actually support Ukraine at this moment. Thank you very much.
