Russian authorities are now ready to hand over to Ukrainian authorities the remains of dozens of prisoners of war who died when the giant transport plane was shot down in January who transported them, Russian news agency RIA reported today, citing human rights official Tatiana Maskalkova.

The Russian government has not released any evidence for this accusation.
Kiev has neither confirmed nor denied that it shot down the transporter. He disputes the Russian version of who was on the plane and what happened.
Mrs. Maskalkova noted that she has been in contact with Ukrainian officials for some time on the issue of the delivery of the bodies of the prisoners.
