One of two anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBMs) fired by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Monday at the container ship M/V MSC Sky II while in the Gulf of Aden hit it, causing him damagethe US military announced today Tuesday.

Yesterday “between 15:50 and 16:15” (Sanaa time; 14:50 and 15:15 Greek time), “Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists launched two anti-ship ballistic missiles from Yemen into the Gulf of Aden against the M/V MSC Sky II, a Liberian-flagged, Swiss-owned container ship,” the US Joint Chiefs of Staff for the Middle East (CENTCOM, “central command”) noted via X.

“One of the missiles hit the vessel causing damage to it. According to initial reports, there were no injuries; the ship did not call for help and continued on its way.”

At 20:00 (Sanaa time; 19:00 Greek time), the US armed forces hit “in lawful defense” two more Houthi ASBMs that posed an “immediate threat” to US merchant ships and naval vessels” in area, according to CENTCOM.
