Britain’s foreign secretary underlined Israel’s responsibility for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, while he did not hide his concern about the planned military attack on Rafah.
The uBritish Foreign Secretary David Cameron said that during his meeting today with Benny Gantz – Israel’s former defense minister who joined the war council formed by Prime Minister Netanyahu – he underlined Israel’s responsibility for delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, while not hiding the his concern about the planned military attack on Rafah.
“I have underlined the steps Israel needs to take to increase humanitarian aid going into Gaza, as well as Britain’s concern at the prospect of a military attack on Rafah,” Cameron said, speaking of “difficult” but “necessary » discussions.
Yesterday, Tuesday, the head of British diplomacy had assured that he would warn Gantz today that patience is running out for the “terrible suffering” in the Gaza Strip.
Political analysts estimate that Benny Gantz traveled to Washington and London to present himself as a candidate for future prime minister as international pressure on Israel escalates over the humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
