Second red warning for the stormy winds brought by Younis Storm issued by the British Meteorological Service.

THE rare warningwhich means there is an estimated risk of loss of life, is in effect from early morning for SE England and South Wales until 12 noon local.

The second warning concerns SE England, including London and is valid from 10 a.m. local until 3 p.m.

Meteorologists warn of winds that can reach almost 150 kilometers per hour and urge citizens to “stay home” so as not to be endangered by objects that will be swept away by the winds.

Orange and yellow alarms have been issued for almost the rest of the country, mainly due to the winds, but also due to expected snowfalls and local floods.

The COBRA Emergency Response Committee will meet on Downing Street to coordinate civil protection services, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that the military is on standby to provide assistance where needed.

The new storm, featured on many front pages as “Worst of the last 30 years”comes right after Hurricane Dundley, which left tens of thousands of households without power in the north of the country.

Precautionary measures to deal with Hurricane Younis include banning trucks on bridges, canceling trains and ferry connections, and many schools, parks and attractions, such as the London Eye, will remain closed today.

The storm has already hit Ireland causing significant problems, with more than 6,000 households left without power.
