When he was 12, Russell co-starred with Bronson in a TV series called The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters.
A real heartwarming story about the “tough guy” of action movies Charles Bronson he had told on his show Jimmy Kimmel Hollywood star Kurt Russell. When he was 12, Russell co-starred with Bronson in a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer television series called The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters.
Russell, now 72, happened to find out that Bronson’s birthday was coming up, and got him a gift, which was a remote control plane. When Russell gave Bronson this gift, Bronson looked at the ground and then walked away. A few minutes passed and one of the show’s crew members approached the 12-year-old.
He told him that Bronson wanted to see him in his room. So Russell went and knocked on Bronson’s door. Bronson opened it and looked at Russell. According to Russell, Bronson said that no one had ever gotten him a birthday present. He told Russell “thank you” and then closed his door.
After some time, Bronson realized that Russell’s birthday was coming up. Bronson learned that Russell was a big fan of skateboarding at the time. So he gave Russell a gift of the best skateboards, and he bought one himself, as a result of which they rode to the studio together and became friends. In fact, when the MGM studio banned the 12-year-old from skateboarding, Bronson then sent an ultimatum to the head of the studio, in a style that did not raise objections, that they would normally continue their walks.
