A new alarm was sounded at the Ukrainian border as it occurred a few hours ago strong explosion in a trapped car in Donetsk, next to the government building of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Russian-speaking separatists. The blast caused panic, but no injuries or damage have been reported so far.
This incident took place a few hours after it was announced discharge from the Donetsk authorities. Residents were informed by SMS that they had to leave the area for Rostov. People boarded buses to leave, queues formed at ATMs as locals tried to take cash with them.
Pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine have said they plan to send some Russian troops to Russia as part of the evacuation of the self-proclaimed Donetsk 700,000 people. Most of the inhabitants of this region are Russian-speaking. Many have already been granted Russian citizenship.
Ukraine claims that the Donetsk rulers are not separatists but organs of Russia, something the Kremlin denies.
In fact, the sirens of the air defense were heard to alert the people and a little later the same decision was made by the authorities in Lugansk, the other big city controlled by the separatists.
And there the people were asked to leave for Rostov, which tomorrow will be visited by the Russian Minister of Crisis Management in order to oversee on behalf of Moscow the movement of the people and their installation in makeshift camps.
These movements cause unrest in both Kiev and Mariupol, which is a few kilometers from Donetsk. People are afraid of provocation, which could lead to arson in the region, while Kiev, for its part, stresses that there is no possibility of using armed force and military means to proceed with the liberation of these areas.
