These are development projects with a total budget of 5.2 million euros that solve chronic problems of the local community. Mr. Petsas referred extensively to the three projects that have already been included and concern:
In the improvement of the rural road construction, amounting to 3.1 million euros
In works for the immediate water supply needs, amounting to 1.1 million euros
In the supply and installation of “smartcities” applications for the upgrade of the administrative capacity of the municipality in dealing with natural disasters and the pandemic, amounting to 1 million euros.
He also announced that, in the immediate future, the proposal of the municipality of North Corfu, amounting to 1.5 million euros, for the digitization of the archive of urban planning permits, will be included in the program for financing, while the proposal of the project “Urban Revitalization “for the area of ​​Sidari, amounting to 10,000 euros.
During the meeting, institutional and financial issues of the municipality were raised, as well as the extraordinary financing for the restoration of those affected by the natural disasters of October.
In his statements, Mr. Petsas underlined the will of the ministry for projects that improve the daily lives of citizens, noting that “All together – Government, Local Government, local agencies and citizens – with unity, consistency, proper planning and good cooperation we will continue to work, from together, for a more optimistic future for our children and in order to bring our Homeland to the place it deserves “.
