“Under his direction, the UN has turned into an anti-Semitic and anti-Israel organization that harbors and encourages terrorism,” Israel Katz said.
The Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz called the UN an “anti-Israel organization” today, after Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ visit to the outskirts of the Gaza Strip called for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire”.
“Under his leadership, the UN has turned into an anti-Semitic and anti-Israel organization that harbors and encourages terrorism,” Katz writes on his Platform X (formerly Twitter) account.
“The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres came today from the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing and blamed Israel for the humanitarian situation in Gaza, without in any way condemning the Hamas terrorists who loot humanitarian aid,” the Israeli official charged.
This is a new episode in the recurring tensions between Israel and the United Nations Organization.
After five and a half months of war that plunged the Gaza Strip into a humanitarian disaster, Guterres today traveled to the Egyptian side of Rafah, a city located between the Palestinian enclave and the Egypt.
Guterres emphasized that he went there to draw attention to the “pain” of its inhabitants Gazawho live “a nightmare without end”.
“Nothing justifies the horrific attacks by Hamas on October 7. And nothing justifies the collective punishment suffered by the Palestinian people. Now more than ever, it is time for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire,” he stressed.
