The Basmani District Court in Moscow sentenced the four arrested accused of carrying out Friday’s terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow, in which 137 people were killed, to two months in pretrial detention.
The court remanded them in custody until May 22, pending their trial, the start of which has not yet been set. Therefore, their pre-trial detention may be extended.
The four accused of “terrorism” face life imprisonment.
Russian authorities have said 11 people are being held, including four gunmen who escaped the night of the attack from the concert hall and headed for the Bryansk region, about 340 kilometers southwest of Moscow.
According to Russian media, the brothers of two of the four remanded in custody are Dalerjon Barotovich Mirzoyev and Saidakrami Murodali Rashabalizonda. The second one is said to have been born in Tajikistan.
The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed, without providing evidence, that some in Ukraine had made preparations to help terrorists cross the Russian border. Kiev has denied any involvement in the attack.
