Two teenagers who helped dozens of people escape from a concert hall that was targeted in a terrorist attack that killed at least 137 people near Moscow were honored by their school today.

THE Islam Kalilov and Artyom Donskovage 15, classmates, received laptops as a reward for heroism, Russian media reported.

As they worked in his changing rooms Crocus City Hallshowed exemplary composure, escorting groups of spectators to the exit.

Cellphone footage shows Islam Kalilov running in the opposite direction from a line of dozens of panicked people. “Everybody out of there!” he shouts repeatedly.

“To tell the truth, I was very scared,” he told Russian radio network BFMadding that he confirmed that no one had been left behind before he himself left the scene of the tragedy.

“They had shown us where to send people in the event of an incident. I knew where to take them to be safe,” he explained.

His classmate Artyom Donskov accompanied another group of people who were looking for an escape route from inside the building, which was already on fire.

Islam Kalilov is also expected to be honored on March 29 by the Union of Muslims of Russia, an important religious organization, underlines the TASS news agency.

Another hero is a spectator who went to the concert with his wife and who managed to disarm one of the attackers with his bare hands, in front of many eyewitnesses.

That man, who did not want to be named, told Russian media that he jumped on one of the attackers while he was reloading his gun and began hitting him in the head along with another man, who rushed to help him.

In addition, a member of the security described to the Izvestia media that he, together with three other men, blocked a door in a corridor, which one of the attackers was shooting at, all this to allow a group of people he was escorting to leave the scene.
