A town in France was almost submerged after heavy rain caused a river to overflow.
Footage from Saturday showed the town of Montmorillon in southeastern France flooded, with water flowing down its main street and outside houses.

Local authorities issued flood warnings in the area and said more than 100 firefighters and armed forces personnel were on hand to help residents on Sunday.

They added that more than 350 people they had called the emergency services since the floods started.

About 30 homes were evacuated, they said, with more than a dozen roads closed due to flooding.

On Saturday night, authorities urged residents to heed their warnings, saying a man had to be rescued after ignoring their advice and then found himself “trapped in the water” with his children.
