The head and founder of World Central Kitchen, Chef Jose Andres, confirmed through X (the former Twitter) the death of “several” workers of the American NGO in an “airstrike by the Israeli army in Gaza” yesterday Monday.

“It broke my heart,” said the head of the Washington-based organization, referring to these “angels” with whom he said he worked “in Ukraine, Gaza, Turkey, Morocco, the Bahamas, Indonesia,” emphasizing that they are not “impersonal” nor “anonymous”.

According to the health ministry of Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist movement in power in the Gaza Strip, an Israeli airstrike killed four foreign aid workers, nationals of Britain, Australia and Poland — the nationality of the fourth is not yet clear — as well as a Palestinian, the group’s guide and interpreter.
