He passed away on Sunday at the age of 31 Jamal EdwardsBritish music businessman known for founding SBTV, a YouTube music channel dedicated to up-and-coming artists in the UK, Edwards’s company has confirmed his death to the BBC.
He attended the Brit Awards earlier this month and became known as a DJ at a concert in north London on Saturday night. The cause of his death has not been announced yet, except that he passed away on Sunday morning.
Edwards was born in Luton in 1990 and raised in Acton, West London. In 2006, he founded SBTV YouTube, a channel focused on discovering emerging artists. The channel will help the careers of great artists such as Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Dave, Skepta, Rita Ora and Stormzy.
The mayor of London Sadiq Khan was among the public figures who paid tribute to Edwards: “British music and entertainment have lost one of their brightest stars. “My thoughts are with Jamal’s loved ones at this terribly sad time.”
