Telephone communication with the president of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas had on Friday o Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The information was made public by the head of the Communication Directorate of the Turkish presidency, Fahrettin Altun, speaking to TRT, the public television network of Turkey.

“Israel will pay the price for its oppression in Gaza” said the Turkish president to his Palestinian counterpart.

In a phone call with Abbas, Erdogan said that “Israel will pay the price of oppression. All means must be mobilized for a cease-fire in Gaza, including the (implementation of) the UN Security Council resolution,” according to Turkey’s Communications Director.

“Our President is making an intense diplomatic effort on the international stage. Our president has just finished a telephone conversation with Mr. Mahmoud Abbas,” Fahrettin Altun said, adding that Erdogan told the Palestinian leader that whatever happens, Turkey will continue to stand firm “against Israel’s barbaric attacks in Gaza”.

President Erdogan is reported to have also stressed that it should to be coherent between all Palestinian groups and Israel must be fought with unity.
