According to Lavrov, “it is particularly worrying that the three Western nuclear powers are among the main sponsors of the Kiev regime”
Western countries are teetering on the brink of a direct military conflict among the nuclear powers, the Russian Foreign Minister threatened on Mondayn Sergey Lavrov in the wake of the US decision to “unlock” mammoth aid ($60 billion) to Ukraine.
“Today, the United States and its “client states” in NATO still dream of inflicting a “strategic defeat” on Russia and are ready to continue their policy of preventing our country “to the last Ukrainian.” They balance on the dangerous edge of a direct military confrontation between the nuclear powers, which could have catastrophic consequences,” Lavrov said.
According to the top Russian diplomat, “it is particularly worrying that the three Western nuclear powers (US, Britain, France) is one of the main sponsors of the Kiev regime and the main instigators of various incendiary movements”. “This could cause serious strategic risks and raise the level of the nuclear threat,” Lavrov noted, according to TASS.
“We are convinced that to avoid further disintegration of the world situation, to maintain stable stability and to create a realistic disarmament, all countries should join their efforts to upgrade the international security system based on the principles of multilateralism, equality and indivisibility. This is the only way to reduce interstate conflicts and ensure real progress in arms control,” the Russian foreign minister argued.
