According to Israeli media, the body was found buried with that of another victim killed during the Nova festival
The body of Eliakim Livman, an Israeli who was held hostage by authorities in the Gaza Strip, has been found in Israel, the military and his family announced Friday.
A member of the security team at the Nova music festival, which was raided by Palestinian Hamas militants during their attack on southern Israel, 24-year-old Libman was “murdered during the October 7 massacre” and “his body was found on Israeli soil “, says an army announcement.
Authorities estimated that Livman was among the nearly 250 people abducted on October 7 and taken to the Gaza Strip where, according to Israel, 128 of them remain there, of whom 35 are believed to be dead.
When asked by AFP, the Israeli military declined to specify where, when and how his body was found. It simply stated that his body was identified “thanks to clues found at the scene and after a complex investigation conducted by the Israeli armed forces and police as well as the National Forensic Institute.”
According to Israeli media, the body was found buried with that of another victim who was killed during the Nova festival.
“After more than 200 days and nights of searching, worrying, praying and crying, we are deeply saddened to learn that our beloved son is no longer among the living,” his family announced. “He was killed at the site of the festival after spending hours tending to many injured people,” he added.
Including Livman, 365 people lost their lives at the festival site.
