The British government suspects China of electronically intercepting personal data of members of its armed forces United Kingdom.

The hacking it came to the attention of government experts in recent days and was done in the system of the company that manages the ministry’s payroll. This system, however, is not linked to the UK Ministry’s central national security data system.

This involves the interception of names and bank account details of members of the armed forces and administrative staff of the Ministry of Defense, and in a few cases residential addresses may also have been intercepted.

Secretary of Defense Grant Shapps is expected to inform British MPs about the cyber attack incident within the day, but without naming China as the perpetrator.

Hacking victims will be informed in detail, but it will be emphasized that the risk is more about financial fraud than their physical security.
