Israel’s armed forces have enough weapons and ammunition for their operations in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, their spokesman, Major General Daniel Hagari, said on Thursday.

“The army has the necessary armaments for the missions it is planning, and also for the missions in Rafah. We have everything we need,” Commander-in-Chief Hagari assured during a press conference.

He was responding to a question about ammunition sufficiency, after US President Joe Biden warned that he would suspend some arms deliveries in the event that Israel’s military launched a large-scale attack on Rafah.

Commenting on Mr. Biden’s remarks, the spokesman for the Israeli armed forces insisted that relations between the two allies remain extremely close.

“The US provided unprecedented assistance (…) to the State of Israel and (its) armed forces during the war,” said Admiral Hagari, adding that any disputes are resolved behind closed doors.

Israel “has security interests, but we are also aware of US interests. And we will continue to act in a way” that serves them, he insisted.
