The curtain fell a few days ago on one of his most notorious domestic violence crimes Kazakhstanwith the victim 31-year-old Saltanat Nukenova (Nursultan Nazarbayev) and her husband’s abuser and former finance minister of the country Kuandyk Bishimbayev (Kuandyk Bishimbayev).

Bishibaev was found guilty of torture and the murder her wife on November 9, 2023 and was sentenced to 24 years in prison.

His trial has been broadcast live on television for the past seven weeks and in videos shown by cameras CCTV footage showed Bishibaev punching his wife and dragging her by the hair inside a restaurant in Astana.

According to the Daily Mail, the politician violently beat his wife – an astrologer by profession – for eight hours.

Other videos were found on Bishibaev’s mobile phone in which he cursed and humiliated the visibly bruised and bloodied Nukenova, hours before she lost consciousness.

The unfortunate woman eventually died of brain trauma due to the brutal attack.

Having the right to defend himself, Bishibaev shocked the audience by saying:

“I admit I hit her but I didn’t kill her. I knew very well that I should not damage any vital organ».

Bishibaev was Kazakhstan’s finance minister from May to December 2016. In 2018, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for bribery but was released on amnesty after serving less than three years.
