They express their sadness at the death of the Iranian president
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared today “deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic loss” of the president of Iran Ibrahim Raisi when the helicopter he was riding in crashed.
“My sincere condolences to his family and the Iranian people,” Modi wrote in X, adding that India stands “with Iran in this time of sorrow.”
From his side, the Palestinian movement Hamas expressed “deepest condolences and solidarity” to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the Iranian government and the Iranian people for “this tremendous loss.”
Hamas praised the late Iranian president’s support for the Palestinian cause and resistance against Israel, while expressing confidence that “Iranian institutions with their deep foundations” will manage to overcome “the effects of this loss.”
Besides, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee of the Houthi movement in Yemen, expressed “his deepest condolences to the Iranian people, the Iranian leadership and the families of President Raisi and the delegation that accompanied him.”
“We ask God to grant their families patience and comfort (…) God willing, the Iranian people will remain attached to the people’s faithful leaders.”
