Fierce reactions from the Democrats – “He is unbalanced”
An uproar has been caused on USA from the evening of Monday 20/5 with Donald Trumpfollowing the release of a video on Truth Social that referred to a “unified Reich” amid fictional newspaper headlines praising the Republican presidential candidate’s victory.
“What will happen after Donald Trump wins? What can we expect for America?” asks the narrator in the 30-second video, which is supposed to show how well Americans will have a good time if the man accused in four criminal cases is re-elected president.
Newspapers carry headlines “Economy in full swing!” or even “Borders are closed” and one refers to the “creation of a unified Reich”. The word “Reich” is generally used to refer to Nazi Germany. In these images, which have in the background blurred passages of texts that look like newspaper articles, references are also made to the First World War.

“Donald Trump is not playing. He is telling America exactly what he intends to do if he gets back in power: run a ‘unified Reich’ as a dictator,” Democratic campaign spokesman James Singer wrote in a statement, accusing him of “a travesty of ‘My Struggle.’ ”, of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler’s political manifesto, and that he has “unbalanced behaviour”.
According to the news website Politico, a member of Donald Trump’s team claimed that he did not see the word “Reich” before the release of these images.
Trump, who has recently said he would become a “dictator for a day” if elected president, has regularly claimed that rival Joe Biden has failed to curb anti-Semitism in the United States amid the war he is waging. Israel with the Islamist Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
But the Republican candidate is sometimes criticized for resorting to Nazi-like rhetoric, particularly when he calls immigrants “parasites” who “poison the blood” of the United States.
