A large-scale fire engulfs the pharmaceutical giant’s offices Novo Nordisk of Denmarkon the outskirts of Copenhagen, the fire service announced.

“It’s a huge fire. We have deployed about 100 firefighters,” said the head of operations Martin Smith specifying that the building has been evacuated.

The fire broke out in a container at a Novo Nordisk construction site and spread to the roof of a neighboring company office building.

The smoke is visible from a distance of 30 kilometers.

Today’s fire occurred less than a week after a May 16 fire at another Novo Nordisk site in Kalundborg, which did not affect the company’s production.
