The president of the neighboring country, on the sidelines of her meeting with Pope Francis in the Vatican, went ahead with a post in which she thanked him “on behalf of all Macedonian citizens for his constant support for the European perspective of the Western Balkans”.
“It was an honor to meet the Pontiff today. I thank His Holiness for his determination to pursue peace in the world and to advocate for the world’s poor. On behalf of all Macedonians, I thanked him for his support for the European integration of the Western Balkans,” he wrote characteristically.
