Forty-three of those on board the Singapore Airlines flight that plummeted during turbulence are still being treated in Bangkok four days after the crash, a hospital in the Thai capital said today.

The 43 passengers are being treated at three different hospitals in Bangkok, Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital said in a statement.

At Samitivej Srinakarin, where 34 of the patients are, seven are in the intensive care unit–three Australians, two Malaysians, a Brit and a New Zealander–the announcement says.

The other 27 patients on the flight who are being treated at this hospital include eight Britons, six Australians, five Malaysians and two Filipinos, the announcement adds.

Two people were discharged from Samitivej Srinakarin, while two others from Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital were transferred to Samitivej Srinakarin to be with their relatives who are being treated, it said.

On Thursday, Samitivej director Srinakarin told reporters that 22 patients had spinal injuries and six have suffered traumatic brain injury, but no one’s life is threatened.

The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER, which had taken off from London’s Heathrow Airport and was heading to Singapore, finally landed in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. A 73-year-old British passenger died, possibly from impact.

The aircraft was carrying a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew members.
