Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, there have been almost daily hostilities between the Israeli army and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which supports the Palestinian Islamist movement.
Hezbollah said today it fired a barrage of rockets into northern Israel in retaliation for an Israeli strike near a hospital in southern Lebanon that killed one person.
Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, there have been almost daily hostilities between the Israeli army and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which supports the Palestinian Islamist movement.
Today, Hezbollah fighters fired “dozens of Katyusha rockets” into northern Israel in response to “the attack by the Israeli enemy that targeted Salah Gadour Hospital in Bid Jbeil,” the organization said in a statement.
The Israeli military reported shortly afterwards that sirens sounded in northern Israel.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (ANI) reported in the morning that an “enemy drone” hit a motorcycle with a remote-controlled missile near the Salah Gadour Hospital in Bid Jbeil community. As a result, one person was killed and many others were injured.
The agency did not specify whether the dead man was a civilian.
This hospital is run by the Islamic Health Committee, which is affiliated with Hezbollah. According to his staff, ten people were injured, four of them seriously.
Lebanon’s health ministry condemned “the brutal Israeli strike” against the hospital, calling it a “war crime”.
An AFP photojournalist saw a burnt motorcycle near the hospital entrance.
