The Kurdish, the war in Gaza, the developments on the Azerbaijan-Armenia front, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and its use artificial intelligence are the main issues to which his announcement refers National Security Council of Turkey, which met under the chairmanship of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In the same announcement it is emphasized that “Our coordination and cooperation with our neighbor Iraq will proceed to further stages with the expansion of the scope of agreement between our countries and it is stated that the concrete progress that will be made in the field of security will strengthen our joint efforts to develop the our area. It is also underlined that “the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, which has turned the territories it usurped in Iraq and Syria into a hotbed of terrorism, and the support provided to it will be eliminated together with all its elements in our region and will not no fait accompli is allowed that violates our national security and the territorial integrity of our neighbors.”

Regarding developments around the war in Gazathe Turkish National Security Council noted that “it is found that the practices aimed at suppressing the voices raised around the world against Israel, which continues the massacres in Gaza while ignoring its responsibilities under international law, to put an end to crimes against humanity, reveal about once again the insincerity of circles that claim to defend the rule of law, democracy and freedom of expression. On the other hand, it is stated that it is critical to increase the number of countries that recognize the State of Palestine, being on the right side of history, and to increase efforts to bring those responsible for the massacre to justice.”

Also at the Council meeting “they discussed the latest developments regarding the war in Ukraine, which is worsening the humanitarian situation in Ukraine day by day, and assessed the possibilities for establishing a just and lasting peace as soon as possible, while emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to strengthening the security of navigation in the Black Sea together with the coastal countries”.

In the announcement ofUruk National Security Council reference is also made to developments in the Caucasus and specifically to Azerbaijan’s relations with Armenia: “Our hope that the positive developments in the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia will lead to a peace agreement and our support for all efforts in good faith aimed at establishing a lasting peace are confirmed.”

Finally, to the announcement “it is pointed out that the progress made in the field of artificial intelligence offers great opportunities that can enable a new phase in the history of humanity.” However, as highlighted, “the capabilities in this area will bring with them a number of challenges and new threats in cyberspace” and “it is highlighted the importance and priority of Turkey to prepare for the scientific, military, economic and social consequences of advances in artificial intelligence and to develop advanced skills in this field’.
