An updated version of ‘voting tips online’ is available to undecideds of the upcoming European electionsbut also those who, out of curiosity, want to check which party best matches their personal views and positions on cutting-edge issues.

This is the well-known, from the previous European elections, application voting tips through which users respond anonymously by the multiple choice method on 30 political positions/statements covering a wide range of issues related to European politics.

The final result guides voters to choose parties (of their country or other countries) that are closer to their personal beliefs and preferences.

The application is available in more than 20 languages, while in Greek it is at https://euandi.eu/gr.

Users choose on a standard five-point scale how much they agree or disagree with positions related to contemporary European (and not only) issues, such as immigration, financial support for farmers, artificial intelligence, European defense spending, budget constraints , taxation, the common currency, European integration, environmental protection, same-sex marriage, common foreign policy, the war in Ukraine, the welfare state, etc.

Based on the answers, the app displays party list with a number on each on a scale of 0 to 100, from which users understand which one is closest to their beliefs.

Since 2009, the Robert Schuman Centreits interdisciplinary department European University Institute of Florence, has devoted extensive resources to this project ahead of the European Parliament elections. This year, in collaboration with a scientific committee of scholars based in its Universities Lausanne and her Lucerne150 political scientists and party policy experts – around five per Member State – cover more than 250 political parties participating in the European elections, studying their programs and positions.

“This year’s European elections are particularly important for the future of the EU,” said Mr Lorenzo Cicchi, project coordinator. “It is important that citizens are informed about the main issues of the election campaign. The application is politically neutral and does not favor any political party or group of parties. We hope that using this tool will encourage people who are undecided or don’t know enough to go to the polls,” he added.
