The White House National Security Representative John Kirby said today that if Hamas agrees to the plan to end the war in Gaza, the US expects Israel to also accept the deal proposal.

“It was an Israeli proposal. We expect that, if she agrees Hamas to the proposal – as it was conveyed to them, an Israeli proposal – then Israel will say yes,” Kirby said in an interview on ABC News’ This Week.

In Jerusalem, the defense minister said Israel will not accept Hamas continuing to rule Gaza at any stage during the process to end the war and that it is considering alternatives.

“As we conduct our significant military operations, the Department of Defense is simultaneously evaluating an alternative to Hamas governance,” the statement said. Joab Gallant.

“We will not accept the rule of Hamas in Gauze at any stage of any process to end the war’.

Delegations from the United States and Israel concluded a meeting in Cairo during which Egypt reiterated its position that Israel must withdraw from the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing in order for it to reopen.
